Mimic Party mods
Two kinds turn up. Sound packs are the game's own add-ons: 6,596 of them on the Steam Workshop, made with the built-in editor and installed with one click. Changes to the game itself, like playing with up to 10 people, come from unofficial files on Nexus Mods that you copy into the game folder yourself.

| Workshop sound packs | Nexus Mods files | |
|---|---|---|
| What they change | The sounds a round asks you to copy | A loader and shared code that change nothing alone, plus the 10 Player Expansion, which raises the lobby limit |
| Made by | Players, with the pack editor inside the game | Independent modders, outside the game |
| Installing | Subscribe on the pack's Workshop page | Extract ZIP files next to Mimic Party.exe |
| Official | Yes, the editor is part of the game | No, community files with no endorsement from FoliesApp |
| Where to get them | Steam Workshop | Nexus Mods |
Sound packs from the Workshop
Every round plays sounds from a pack, and the Workshop is where packs live. Search them by title, language or theme in the sound pack browser, or build your own with the pack editor. Everyone in a lobby needs the same pack before a game starts.
The 10 Player Expansion
The game is listed for 1 to 5 players online (2 to 5 in one store line). The 10 Player Expansion by arribbaa raises private Classic and Versus lobbies to up to 10 players. Versus keeps the Red and Blue team choice, but the mod does not balance the teams for you, and Versus still needs at least two players to start. The limit can be set anywhere from 6 to 10 in the mod's config file.
It builds on two other files from the same author, installed in this order, each extracted into the folder that holds Mimic Party.exe (Steam: Manage, then Browse local files):
- BepInEx Pack for Mimic Party, the loader that lets mods run.
- Mimic Party Modding Core, shared code for mods. It changes nothing in the game by itself.
- The 10 Player Expansion itself, then launch through Steam and create a private lobby.
The author asks everyone in a group to use matching versions. The first launch after installing can take longer while the loader sets itself up.
Removing mods
Close the game first. The 10 Player Expansion comes out by deleting its DLL from BepInEx/plugins. Remove the Modding Core only after every mod that needs it. Setting enabled = false in doorstop_config.ini turns the loader off, and every mod with it; to take the BepInEx Pack out completely, use the file list that ships with it and leave the game's own files alone.
For player counts without mods, and for trouble getting into lobbies, see the multiplayer guide.
Questions
- Does Mimic Party support mods?
- The game's own add-ons are sound packs: it has a built-in pack editor and loads packs from the Steam Workshop. Changes to how the game itself runs, such as a bigger player limit, come from unofficial mods like the ones on Nexus Mods.
- Can you play Mimic Party with more than 5 players?
- Not in the game as sold. The unofficial 10 Player Expansion on Nexus Mods raises private Classic and Versus lobbies to up to 10 players. Its author says a complete ten-player session has not been confirmed yet.
- Do mods work after a Mimic Party update?
- Not automatically. The Nexus mods are documented against game version 0.1.73, and their author states that future game builds are not automatically supported.
- How do I remove a Mimic Party mod?
- Close the game first. The 10 Player Expansion comes out by deleting its DLL from BepInEx/plugins. Remove the Modding Core only after the mods that need it. To switch the loader off, set enabled = false in doorstop_config.ini; to remove the BepInEx Pack completely, use the file list that ships with it.
