Mimic Party updates and release timeline

Two weeks from public store page to release. FoliesApp opened the Steam page, ran a Playtest, then released the game the moment it passed 30,000 wishlists. In its September 9 announcement it said big updates would drop every week.

    Oldest Steam Workshop packs

    The earliest sound packs in the Workshop date from August 3, before the store page went public.

    Steam page goes live

    FoliesApp opened the store page; five days later it posted that it had hoped for 40 wishlists.

    5,000 wishlists in 5 days

    The developer pointed players to its Discord for Playtest sign-ups.

    Playtest app opens

    A separate Mimic Party Playtest app went up on Steam. Its store page now redirects to the full game.

    Instant release

    At 30,000 wishlists FoliesApp released the game immediately.

    All Characters DLC

    A paid DLC unlocks all 14 characters at once, including a Discord-exclusive one.

    50,000 copies

    FoliesApp announced 50,000 copies sold.

About the Playtest

The separate Mimic Party Playtest app went up on August 20, 2026, with sign-ups announced through the developer's Discord. Its store page now redirects to the full game. Workshop packs made during that window are still live: the oldest date from before the store page itself was public. Browse them in the sound pack browser, oldest first, or read how the free options changed at release.
